Georgia State Capitol displays three pieces of art by Fayetteville artist and retired educator, Sandy Holcomb. Holcomb’s artwork is on loan from the Arts Clayton Gallery in Jonesboro.

Holcomb is president of Fayette Society of Fine Arts (FSOFA) and is a member of Fayette County Retired Educators Association (FCREA). Retired educators, Ruby Jo Saunders and Stella Mitchell join Holcomb in exemplifying that educators never retiree, they find another forum.

Saunders is active in the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) as well as FCREA, while Mitchell has become a well-known local author with two publications receiving great reviews.

FSOFA holds meetings the second Monday of each month 7:00PM Heritage Bank, Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville. Membership is open to anyone interested in the arts. FCREA holds meetings the first Thursday of each month, 10:30AM, First United Methodist Church, Fayetteville. Membership in FCREA is open to anyone interested in education. All meetings are open to the public.
