New York Times Bestselling Author Dorothea Benton Frank will make an appearance in Savannah for an evening talk and book signing on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 beginning at 7:00 pm at Trinity Church, at 225 West President Street. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Savannah Book Festival.

Frank will be touring to support her newest release, Return to Sullivans Island, the long-awaited sequel to her 1999 debut novel, Sullivan’s Island. Frank will discuss the new book and sign books afterward. Return to Sullivans Island first edition hardback copies and other titles by Dorothea Benton Frank will be available for purchase at the event. Dorothea Benton Frank was born and raised on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina and first began to delight readers with tales of life in the lowcountry with the publication of her first book, Sullivan’s Island––which now has over a million copies in print.

In the intervening years, Frank has found success as author of Plantation, Isle of Palms, Shem Creek, Pawleys Island, Full of Grace, The Land of Mango Sunsets, The Christmas Pearl, and Bulls Island. With Return to Sullivans Island, ten years and ten New York Times Bestselling novels later, fans can read the story of the next generation of Hamiltons and Hayes - and their beloved home, the Island Gamble. Dot Frank now resides in the New York area with her husband, but makes frequent visits back to the lowcountry.
