4th Annual Art with Heart Fine Arts and Crafts Show Highlights Art and Giving

Over 30 fine artists and crafters from across the state will be sharing their talents on February 7th and 8th in Peachtree City. Juried members of the Fine Arts and Crafts Entrepreneurs (FAACE) group will be giving demonstrations and selling stained glass, paintings, ceramics, fiber art, wood and other beautiful pieces.

Art with Heart is the perfect place to pick up a unique Valentine’s Day gift for your significant other, family member or friend.

The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday evening. Food, beverages, music and art are on the agenda during the drop-in reception from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. There is no charge to attend the reception although a voluntary donation of $5 to the church is requested.

Saturday the show is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge to come see the fabulous art.

Art with Heart will benefit The Children’s Village at Christian City through voluntary donations from artists and attendees and a silent art auction.

Christian City has been caring for abandoned and abused children in a family centered residential setting since 1965. FAACE meets at St. Andrews on a quarterly basis at St. Andrews in the Pines and holds a number of art shows and workshops in the area. Upcoming workshops and speaker topics include social media, photographing artwork, and the ins and outs of websites.

New Art Group Hosts Charity Art Show February 5, 2011

Skip the roses and chocolate this year - choose a one-of-a-kind work of art or fine craft for your sweetheart and give to a worthy cause at the same time. Join members of Fine Arts And Crafts Entrepreneurs (FAACE) on Saturday, February 5th from 10am-4pm, when “Art With Heart” debuts in downtown Fayetteville.

Members and friends of FAACE will showcase paintings, pottery, jewelry, and fiber art – a perfect mix of gifts for Valentine’s Day. The show will benefit The Children’s Village at Christian City through donations at the door.

FAACE is a new art group focusing on the ‘business of art’. Janet McGregor Dunn, Susan Norton, Kathy Schultz, Vicki Turner, Angela White, and Claudia Wood began the group late last year with the idea of helping fellow artists become more successful. In addition to hosting shows and providing art venue information for members, FAACE will hold informative meetings designed to foster better business practices and growth. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Towne Club Center in Peachtree City. Fine artists and crafters in the Southern Crescent area are welcome. Call for South Metro Atlanta Artists

3rd Annual Chair-ity Benefit for The Children’s Village at Christian City
Hosted by The Hollingsworth House, Fayetteville

Open to all Artists in the South Metro Atlanta Area
Deadline for entries: Sept. 30th
Deadline for art receipt: October 20th

The 3rd Annual Chair-ity Benefit for The Children’s Village, a home for abused and abandoned children, at Christian City is seeking artists to donate their talents. Artists are asked to donate “chair-themed” art to be auctioned at the Hollingsworth House in Fayetteville, Monday, November 30th. All proceeds will be used to help the children who live at Christian City.

Some suggestions to tweak your imagination:

- Painted chair
- Painted bench
- Painting of chairs in yard, back porch, restaurant, theater, etc. (any media)
- Pottery in a chair or with chair theme
- Mobile incorporating your art medium
- Sculpture of chair (with or without person / people or other objects)

We are seeking a total of five (5) chairs, ten (10) paintings/photographs and five (5) sculptures or pieces of pottery.

Artists wishing to participate are asked to send an email to janet@hummingbird-hollow.com with the following information:

- Artists name
- Contact information (phone number, email and mailing address)
- Type art
- Website and / or photo of previously completed art
- A short bio (1 – 2 paragraphs)
- Your photo (if you’d like it included on our website)

Due to space considerations we are limiting the number of pieces to five (5) chairs, ten (10) paintings / photographs, and five (5) sculptures / pottery. We will contact you within five days of receipt of email with details.

The event is highly publicized throughout the community by radio, newspaper and magazine advertisements thus those donating their art will be exposing their talents to an exceptionally large audience. Additionally, the artist’s bio, a link to artists website and photos will be included on the Chair-ity website (www.chair-ity-event.org).

Artists donating art attend the gala event at no cost! November 30th, 5 – 7:30 p.m. for delicious food and refreshments, live music, a silent and live auction, plus plenty of great give-aways!

Background:

The Hollingsworth House and leaders in the community have joined together to host an annual benefit for The Children’s Village. Last year local artists painted and decorated chairs to be auctioned. This year the Chair-ity benefit is expanding the offering to incorporate other arts.
