The Seen Gallery Hosts Spring Group Show at New Location in Downtown Decatur

Featuring the Work of Jerald Mask, David Hansford and Amy Bradford

Opening Night Reception on Saturday, April 4 from 7 to 10 p.m.

The Seen Gallery will host a group show beginning Saturday, April 4 through Wednesday, May 13, 2009 featuring the colorful and vibrant works of abstract painters Jerald Mask, David Hansford and The Seen Gallery co-owner Amy Bradford. The opening night reception will be held on Saturday, April 4 from 7-10 p.m. at The Seen Gallery's new location in Downtown Decatur. Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres, meet the artists, and peruse the incredible art, which will be available for purchase.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
The reward of viewing Amy Bradford's paintings is a chance to see mesmerizing works of art, drawn from the artist's vision of celestial and earthbound panoramas, and perhaps it is a chance to see the depth and beauty of light absorbed and reflected from a gilded surface. Amy's paintings are created beyond the surface level - her art, drawn from physical reality, draws the viewer in to the depth of the work, compelling us to create an interpretation of the ethereal image in our own minds.

Whether he paints the illuminated fall canopy of a Gingko tree or the muted tones of the beach underfoot, David Hansford's works create harmonies that soothe the senses, nourish the spirit and encourage peaceful reflection. The controlled and deliberate use of color, the play of shadows and reflections and the sensuous feel of a multitude of textures allows David to paint the ordinary in nature in a beautifully extraordinary way.

Jerald Mask has spent the last three decades refining his abstract imagery. His circle paintings, painted over the last decade and a half, reflect this refinement through his incredible control of the brush and masterful use of color.

ABOUT THE SEEN GALLERY:
The Seen Gallery, a multi-discipline art gallery that features established and mid-career artists, was founded by photographer Bill Bibb in October 2002. Painter Amy Bradford joined Bill as co-owner and curator in 2005; and, after six years of success at its original location in the Oakhurst Village, the two moved The Seen Gallery to a larger street front location by Decatur Square – an ideal area for sidewalk strolling and window-shopping. The new 1,700 square foot gallery is now conveniently located at 415 Church Street, just two doors down from Java Monkey coffee and wine bar and directly across from the Decatur MARTA station. New exhibitions will open every four to five weeks, creating a fresh, dynamic experience for each visit to the gallery.
